Everywhere you go, you can see that the uses of technology are growing, each and everyday. From G.P.S's to Cell Phones to even ATM like parking meter machines. Is this technology really worth the money we paid? Does it actually improve our lives? Or did our government waste their money (once again) on something that isn't a nessacity, but a want.
Now, as I'm typing this blog. I think about how my computer is already affecting my surrondings. I mean, my best friend [who isn't Pippy], who I'll call Asian, has been trying to talk to me for the past 20 minutes, but I was too busy fiddling around on the internet. She had to resort to twitter to even get a response from me. Now, we have both returned to our gateways to the interweb world. I think this is the prime example of when too much of a good thing, becomes a bad thing.
These little devices, oh so small, but yet so powerful, they take us out of reality and into Cyberworld. It kinda reminds me of what happened with those people in Wall-e. Communication in person has formed into a 'weird' thing. I mean, back in the good ol'e days, looking people in the eyes was a normal, everyday thing... But now, as we look into a person's eyes, we feel a sense of unsure-ness run through us and we quickly dart our eyes away. I think what I'm trying to say, is technology has taken away human interaction. Such as now, with me and Asian, who has now fallen asleep on me.
In my defense though, I'm just a computer addict... So when I'm not at a computer, I'll interact with the people around me, and won't be glued to my cellphone. OH, how I hate thee. Cellphones, Cellphones,Cellphones. I can't even think about them without wanting to rant. So be warned, a rant is coming up.. Cellphones irk me. No, not just because of the fact that they die fast, or I don't have signal.. No. How about the fact that if we didn't have them today, I as a teen, could just go somewhere and not have to check in every 30 minutes, replying to a cellphone addicted mother, and ignore the people I'm around. Or Maybe it's the fact that if I go out with my parents somewhere for a FAMILY dinner, and I put down my phone, so I can interact with the people I'm with, and my parents are over there, eyes glued to the screens of their phones, or talking with a bluetooth in their ears. I mean come on. I'm a teenage girl and even I don't use my phone that much... Yesh. Okay.. I think my rant of that is done..
I mean, look at this here article.. They are trying to make avatars that will store our consciences when we die. We would then be downloaded into a virtual world. Thus letting us leave on forever and ever. Making humans immortal. Read the whole article here: http://www.smosh.com/smosh-pit/articles/will-human-beings-be-immortal-year-2045
And then other times, I step back and thank God, that there is technology. I mean, everything has its pros and cons. Without technology, my friends from my previous blog post, Pippy and Mozart, wouldn't be able to communicate. I wouldn't be able to communicate with past friends whom I moved away from. I wouldn't be able to type this here, blog of mine and hope that beautiful readers like you, read it.. I wouldn't even have Google, who is my bestest friend in the whole wide world when it comes to school. Copy and paste questions into that search bar and BAM. You got yourself an answer in like 1.3 seconds.
Do you think technology is getting too advanced and may be too good and is now a bad thing? Or Do you not really care, and just enjoy whatever it evolves into.. Leave a comment telling me?<3 Thanks <3
